Dr. Yıldız Tütüncü graduated from Istanbul University, Cerrahpasa Medical Faculty, Department of Biomedical Sciences. She earned her M.S. and Ph.D. degree in the field of Immunology at Istanbul University. Dr. Tütüncü received Associate Professor degree in the field of Basic Immunology. Dr. Tütüncü worked at Istanbul Medical Faculty, Department of Internal Diseases, Divison of Endocrinology and Metabolism Diseases and Aziz Sancar Experimental Medical Research Institute, Department of Immunology. Dr. Tütüncü worked as a researcher in the MEDIGENE (EU 7. FP) project at the INSERM Molecular Endocrinology Laboratory in Montpellier, France. Dr. Tütüncü worked as a researcher in several international and national projects supported by the European Union, TUBITAK, University Scientific Research Projects, and the pharmaceutical industry. Dr. Tütüncü research interests include transplant immunology, especially liver transplantation; immunometabolism of innate immune system cells in individuals with metabolic syndrome, diabetes mellitus, progressive familial intrahepatic cholestasis, immune and inflammatory pathways in the pathogenesis of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease.
