After graduating from Hacettepe University School of Medicine in 1992, Prof. Dr. Yasemin Özdemir continued her residency in Neurology at Hacettepe University School of Medicine. After completing her PhD in neuroscience at the same university, she did post-doctoral research at Harvard University between 2001-2004. After working as an Assistant Professor, Associate Professor and finally Professor at Hacettepe University, she started working at Koç University School of Medicine in 2014.

Prof. Dr. Yasemin Özdemir continues her research at Koç University School of Medicine on the role of pericytes in neurological diseases, the effect of different matrix environments on neuron culture, targeted drug delivery systems to the brain, and experimental modeling of neurological diseases.
