Hande Özkan graduated with a BSc in Molecular Biology and Genetics from Istanbul Technical University in 2016. In 2018, she began her PhD at Koç University’s KUTTAM and completed her studies under the supervision of Gözde Korkmaz. Her research interests lie in functional genomics related to breast cancer. Currently, she is investigating the effects of copy number amplification on chromosome 1q in breast cancer through a CRISPR-based functional screening approach. She is also continuing her postdoctoral research with Dr. Gözde Korkmaz.
