Dr. Öyküm KAPLAN ARABACI completed her bachelor studies at Istanbul Technical University, and master studies at Bogazici University Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics, respectively. She completed her doctoral work at Georg August University Göttingen within the Molecular Physiology of the Brain Program and Max Planck Institute for Experimental Medicine under the supervision of Dr. Hiroshi Kawabe and Prof. Dr. Nils Brose. Her doctoral studies were focused on functional analysis of E3 ubiquitin ligases in developing neurons including several state-of-the-art techniques such as super resolution microscopy and in utero electroporation, as well as electrophysiological and behavioral studies in mice. During her doctorate, she also worked as a student representative of Max Planck Institute of Experimental Medicine and her PhD Program; and served as a co-editor for GGNB Times students’ newsletter. Currently, she is working as a postdoctoral researcher with Prof. Dr. Devrim Gözüaçık and his team at Koc University Hospital, KUTTAM Research Center for Translational Medicine and Sabanci University, SUNUM Nanotechnology Research and Application Center.
