Dr. Nazlı Ezgi Özkan-Küçük holds a bachelor’s degree from Istanbul University in Molecular Biology and Genetics. She then obtained her master’s degree in Molecular Medicine from Istanbul University, Experimental Medicine Research Institute. She completed her PhD degree in Molecular Biology and Genetics from Koç University under the supervision of Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nurhan Özlü. During her doctoral studies, Dr. Özkan-Küçük focused on cell division and cell surface proteins to reveal the mechanism and the role of the cell cycle dependent surface localization of protocadherins. She also developed a new approach to enrich cell surface proteins for the mass spectrometry-based analysis. Dr. Özkan-Küçük’s post-doctoral research aims to reveal the effects of different post-translational modifications on cell division.
