KUTTAM CELLULAR AND MOLECULAR IMAGING CORE (KUTTAM-CMIC) INFORMATION GUIDE

It is essential that the use of the KUTTAM Core Labs is correctly acknowledged in your publications, presentations, and posters. The acknowledgement allows us to demonstrate our impact on the local scientific community thereby facilitating the procurement of funding to acquire new technologies and provide cutting edge services.

Suggested acknowledgements can be found below;

  • The core is open on weekdays between 08:30-17:30 (Live cell imaging experiments are started and finished within working hours).
  • After reservation, the use of the systems can be only be provided by the technician or responsible faculty.
  • Service is provided at a fee.
  • It is not possible to use the systems without a reserveation.
  • Institutional (KU) users can make bookings via “labagenda” (labagenda.com) calendar after user information is defined. In order for the correct system to be reserved at the time of booking, the intended use must be written in the appropriate area of the calendar.
  • Reservations must be approved by core facility managers.
  • Non-institutional (non-KU) users are required to request an appointment by filling in the “non-institutional service request form” and submit.
  • Users must request a reservation at least one week prior to the request for use.
  • An reservation can be made through the system only for three following weeks.
  • A reservation can not last for more than four hours within the same day (except for live cell experiments).
  • In case of cancellation of reservation, two days notice must be given at the latest.
  • When you want to make an emergency reservation, it is necessary to reach the authorities mentioned in this document by e-mail.
  • It is necessary to be at the center 15 minutes prior to reservation time.
  • All users must have completed the “Pre-view Control Form” before the appointment and submit.
  • In order to be able to specify the purpose of use before booking on calendar, the technical specifications of the systems in the center should be examined and the system most suitable for use should be determined. Information should be obtained from managers when necessary.
  • In the event of a final cancellation or unannounced approach, the investigator will be alerted and restricted access may be applied in case of repetition.
  • Institutional (KU) and Non-institutional (non-KU) pricing takes place as indicated in the table below.
  • In case of reservation, 25% advance payment will be made.
  • For payment details, KUTTAM@ku.edu.tr can be contacted.
  • Where researchers do not have a dedicated fund for imaging, communication can be made with the KUTTAM Directorate.

  • Images obtained during use are transferred to the data processing computer in the center with the external disk provided by KUTTAM-CMIC. Users can transfer data from this computer to their own memory.
  • A pc compatible link with many functions of the LASX application suite can be transmitted via e-mail to the requesting users for installation on their own computers.
  • Users can use the data processing computer located in the center for the operations they can not perform with the LASX program installed on their own computers. This computer also needs to be reserved before use like systems.
  • Users’ data are deleted after they have been stored in the central computer for a maximum of 3 (three) months. For this reason, it is necessary for users to take their data before this time.
