The Clinical Research Unit (CTU) and Phase 1 Clinical Trial Center (CTC) were established within Koç University Hospital, drawing strength from the position of Koç University which brings talented young people and esteemed academicians together and contributes interdisciplinary research.
CTU is currently carrying out Phase 2,3,4 clinical researches.
CTC is Turkey’s first high-risk drug research centre approved by Turkish Medicines and Medical Devices Agency. CTC opened its doors on 6th November 2019. CTC has its own standard operating procedures (SOPs), quality assurance and control systems, seven single patient rooms, laboratory, drug preparation area, pharmacy, recreation and dining areas, staff rooms and an archive.
The team provides assistance at all stages of clinical research: study design, statistics, protocol writing, patient recruitment, data collection, data management, archiving, monitoring, assisting field coordinators from contract research organizations
Team members have expertise in the coordination of clinical trials and ensure that studies comply with national and international legal and regulatory requirements, Good Clinical Practice Guidelines (GCP), International Conference on Harmonization (ICH) and Declaration of Helsinki.
As an academic unit, CTU provides all kinds of expertise, consultancy and support to the researcher beyond its physical infrastructure in line with contemporary standards and facilitates the conduct of high quality clinical research.
